Administrative Specialist/Graduate Officer
Manages and distributes departmental keys, websites, and email accounts. Receives, records, files, and forwards graduate admissions files. Oversees the correspondence for accepted, denied, and alternate applicants as well as all requests for graduate application materials and questions regarding graduate programs in Psychology. Schedules thesis and dissertation defenses, and oversees the completion of Do-All forms for the Graduate School. Schedules 447 Fraser for defenses and other uses. Oversees the thesis and dissertation library for the department, including logging in all the new thesis and dissertations. Maintains graduate student files for the Clinical, Social, Developmental, Cognitive and Quantitative programs.

Supervises Secretary to the Chair, Graduate Office, Scheduling Officer, Department Receptionist, and Student Office Assistants. Oversees department budget, ordering equipment, bill payment, payroll, grants, GRFs, awards, Endowment accounts, travel, and inventory.

Administrative Support for Chairperson: Maintains calendar, arranges colloquia and speaker's accommodations, records and distributes faculty meeting minutes, processes Endowment Fund thank you letters, Recruiting Coordinator for faculty and unclassified academic staff positions; prepares recruiting forms, provides guidance to recruitment committee members, coordinates interviews including meetings and accommodations, prepares and assembles all promotion, tenure, and merit materials, third year reviews, and sabbatical leave applications.
Administrative Support for Faculty and Instructors: Prepares and processes materials for course and GTA evaluations each semester, processes change of grades, upkeep of grade sheets, incomplete cards, add and drop cards, and signs enrollment-related paperwork when needed.
Administrative Support for Department: Enrolls students in PSYC 102 on Blackboard. Prepares academic misconduct forms and related materials, prepares exams from draft to finished copy, scanning, prepares office hours each semester, and prepares department phone/office list and department faculty/staff/emerti faculty phone and address list each year.
Mary Strickell
Scheduling Officer/Undergraduate Assistant/Budgeting Assistant
Works with Associate Chair, program directors, and faculty to schedule classes for Lawrence and Edwards campuses, day-to-day room scheduling requests, liaison to other departments with cross-listed courses, contact for administratively dropping students from courses. Handles AI assignments, distributes permission numbers, and signs Schedule Change Forms. Assists the Accountant with placing orders and keeping inventory stocked.
Heidi Waltz
Advising Specialist to the Department
Provides students with information about the major, coordinates assignments of students to the appropriate faculty advisor, manages the undergraduate application process, serves as contact for faculty regarding advising questions, creates and manages advising database to monitor student progress through the department Serves as department liaison to the College Student Academic Services office, the Freshman Sophomore Advising Center, and the University Career Center.
