Travel to Canada or Mexico

Citizens of certain countries traveling to Canada or Mexico for tourism may or may not need a Canadian or Mexican visa. Since ISSS is not familiar with Canadian or Mexican laws regarding visa requirements, please contact the appropriate Canadian Consulate or Mexican Consulate for information before traveling.

Automatic Extension of U.S. Visa Validity

Students & dependents in F or J status may, under certain conditions, re-enter the United States with an expired visa after traveling solely to the contiguous territories of Mexico, Canada, or an adjacent island if the travel is for 30 days or less.
